The PC is dead

I like my recently purchased netbook. It's small, light, quick to start up (when I have it in 'Sleep' mode, at least) and I can create content on it. The best feature about it, though, is the ability to synchronise my information to the 'cloud' using either 'SugarSync' or 'Dropbox' so I can get and edit that information anywhere that I can access the internet.

So, what's the point of a normal PC or laptop these days? What I mean by 'normal' is the way we have been brought up with computers since the arrival of Microsoft's 'Windows 95'. 'Normal' computing was having to upgrade your computer with an ever growing need for more space on your hard drive; faster processors, more RAM and new operating systems every once in a while to cope with our demands for digital photos, music, videos and so on.

Well, that's all going to go away. The new 'Normal' will be a much simpler and more reliable way of computing. It's been around for a while and it's called 'cloud computing'. Rather than me explain, watch this video from Google below that explains how they view the new 'normal'. It's rather good!
