O2 Rugby Moments
You have probably noticed that I am posting regularly about 'O2 Priority Moments' at the moment. That's for two reasons. Firstly, O2 is a massive rugby sponsor in the UK and I am a rugby fan, so I keep noticing their marketing at matches at this time of year. The second reason, to be open and honest with you, is that I am sponsored to write about their marketing campaign about their 'O2 Priority Moments' service for small businesses. I only post if I like their video campaigns.
So, enough of that.
Weak Mobile Marketing
Mobile marketing has been, in my view, weakly executed in many cases to date with small banners ads in apps on smartphones, or low quality spam text messages. Services like 'Foursquare' have been good at providing you information about shops, restaurants or places, but providing offers through the service does not yet seem to have taken off. But, mobiles service provider, O2, has a mobile marketing service which looks like it is working for retail businesses who want to bring new customers to their stores.Strong Mobile Marketing
'O2 Priority Moments' is a service, as mentioned in my previous post, which allows retail businesses to market their products or services to O2 customers through their smartphones, offering them deals when they enter their stores. I particularly like a campaign highlighting a business called Fred Aldous in Manchester which supplies 'O2 Priority Moments' service to market their business by offering a discount on using their photo-booth which then encourages customers to browse around their shop and buy other products.Watch the video to see what how 'Fred Aldous' is using the system to generate new business:
