| Three New Things |
It is a good test because it cuts through any doubts about whether the 'thing' they are looking at will have a chance at being successful in this highly competitive world. But, for the inventor of the 'thing', the hardest part of investing in their product or service has not always been building it but getting it in front of the investors and customers.
Getting people to take their invention seriously is hard work. It can often feel as though the idea for the 'thing' was the easy bit. Getting it to market is the part of the work which takes blood, sweat, tears and, often, lots of money.
If the inventor had some help with getting their idea to market from a mentor, say, then life for them could be a little easier and, possibly, a lot more lucrative. That's why the Virgin Business Media competition 'Three New Things' could be just the fillip that three inventors are looking for to help them launch their ideas into being realities.
The competition is looking for digital inventions which could be 'big' for people or for businesses. Three New Things is close to its conclusion when the three finalists face the judges in front of 250 journalists, industry experts and bloggers in London on 12 March 2014. The winners get some help from Richard Branson. Not bad, eh?
